Dr. Couture NHATA 2018 Service Award Winner

Amy Hollingworth ATC with Dr. Christoper Couture

Salem, NH – The New Hampshire Athletic Trainers’ Association is happy to  announce that Dr. Christopher Couture is the 2018 winner of the NHATA Service Award.  Dr. Couture is a physician with Victory Sports Medicine in Merrimack NH.  Dr. Couture was honored during the 2018 State Meeting held Sunday May 6, 2018 at Pinkerton Academy.  Dr. Couture received his award from NHMI’s Amy Hollingworth ATC.

In support of Dr. Couture’s his nominators stated, Dr. Couture demonstrates his support and respect for the profession through his approachability and willingness to serve as a resource for athletic trainers.  He is an invaluable resource and a great advocate for NH’s athletic trainers.  In addition to providing great care for athletes in his medical practice, Dr. Couture volunteers his time as a sideline physician for area high schools and is a member of the NH Advisory Council on Sport-Related Concussion.  One of Dr. Couture’s most valuable contributions to athletic trainers is his willingness to educate.

Dr. Couture works tirelessly improving communications within the allied healthcare team and has been an incredible resource and collaborator as we work to ensure kids have the best available concussion care. One of the many things that makes him so valuable is his genuine, easy-going, caring attitude toward all. The athletic trainers he works with feel it. His patients feel it. Our athletes feel it.  He is an invaluable member of any sports medicine team and I can honestly say he has made me a better Athletic Trainer during my short time working with him.

In addition to his role with  Victory Sports medicine, Dr. Couture is a team physician pool member for the US Ski team, volunteers as a consulting physician for Hollis-Brookline High School, and serves as a principal faculty member in NHMI’s accredited athletic training residency.

The New Hampshire Service Award recognizes non-athletic trainers from various backgrounds who have made outstanding contributions to the profession of athletic training in the state of New Hampshire.  All certified athletic trainers in the state of New Hampshire are invited to submit nominations for the New Hampshire Service Award.

The NHATA offers a most Distinguished Athletic Trainer and Service Award annually.  See our awards page for more information on the nomination process.
