Continuing Education

Jen Sturtevant (she/her) – Currently serves as the Ambulatory Services Supervisor for MelroseWakefield Healthcare in the Greater Boston area of Massachusetts. Jen serves on the LGBTQ+ Resource Committee for the hospital with a passion for working towards creating an inclusive environment for patients, employees, and the communities they serve. Jen is the District 1 Representative for the NATA LGBTQ+ Advisory Committee as well as incoming D1 chair for the NATA Research & Education Foundation.



Level of difficulty: Essential
Objectives: At the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  1. Define commonly used LGBTQ+ terms that create cultural awareness with colleagues and patients.
  2. Develop strategies on how to be an inclusive leader and ally within the athletic training profession.
  3. Recognize best practices in providing equitable healthcare to LGBTQ+ patients, including proper referrals related to this population.
