Below you will find information and links to various opportunities currently offered by the NHATA. These will range from scholarships for athletic training students to awards of recognition available to our members. In addition, here you will find postings for open positions either on the Executive Board or on one of our various committees. You may nominate yourself or others you feel may be worthy of consideration.

Nominations and Vacancies

Executive Board

7.2 President Elect. The President Elect shall act in the absence of the President, and shall perform such other duties as the NHATA Officers may prescribe. The Past President shall act in the absence of the President and President Elect, and shall perform such other duties as the NHATA Officers may prescribe.

Committees

NHATA Committee Chairs are appointed by the Executive Board to oversee various functions and interests for the profession within the state. NATA Disrict 1 Committee State Representatives act as liasons between the state associations and the Disrict 1 Committees. These positions may be held simultaneously where appropriate. If you have an interest in any of the following positions please contact the NHATA President at president@nhata.org.

The following committee positions are available.

NHATA Committees

Ballots and Nominations Committee Chair- Coordinates the electoral process for the Executive Board from collection of nominations to initiating voting procedures.

NATA District 1 Committees

Ethnic Diversity Advisory Council- Promotes the advancement of ethnic diversity and opportunity within the profession of athletic training.

Scholarships

The Daniel R. Sedory New Hampshire District 1 Scholarship and New Hampshire Athletic Trainers' Association Athletic Training Student Scholarships

Dan Sedory has been an Associate Clinical Professor and Director of the Athletic Training Education Program at the University of New Hampshire since 1988. Sedory was a recipient of the NATA Athletic Trainer Service Award in 2001 and the NATA Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer award in 2006. He has also served as a member of the Education Council and has played an important role in the development and updating of the NATA Athletic Training Educational Competencies. Dan Sedory:
University of New Hampshire's Dan Sedory

The New Hampshire Athletic Trainers' Association initiated an undergraduate scholarship program in January 2001 to promote academic excellence in, and dedication to, the study of athletic training. Applications and information are available from the Chair of the Athletic Training Student Committee. Previous applicants and eligible recipients may apply annually.

To be eligible for the NHATA scholarship, an individual can either be an accepted student in a athletic training education program in the state of New Hampshire or a New Hampshire resident accepted into an athletic training education program. To be eligible for the Dan Sedory New Hampshire District 1 Scholarship, the candidate must meet the criteria for the NHATA scholarship and be a District 1 member.

Awards

New Hampshire Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer of the Year Award

The New Hampshire Athletic Trainer of the Year Award recognizes a certified and licensed member of the New Hampshire Athletic Trainers' Association for their outstanding contributions to the profession of athletic training. All certified athletic trainers in the state of New Hampshire are invited to submit nominations for the New Hampshire Athletic Trainer of the Year Award. Sponsoring nominees are required to inform the nominee of the nomination.

New Hampshire Service Award

The New Hampshire Service Award recognizes non-athletic trainers from various backgrounds who have made outstanding contributions to the profession of athletic training in the state of New Hampshire. All certified athletic trainers in the state of New Hampshire are invited to submit nominations for the New Hampshire Service Award. Sponsoring nominees are required to inform the nominee of the nomination. You may click on the link below for the nomination form.

NATA Secondary School Gatorade Service Award

The NATA Secondary School Gatorade Service Award was created to annually recognize a certified athletic trainer, at the secondary school level, who has provided outstanding service and dedication to his / her school. This not only focuses on athletic health care but also involvement with the general school community functions.

Nominations may be submitted by a student, parent, physician, fellow athletic trainers, recognized athletic training associations, athletic conferences and athletic directors.

Deadline for nominations is December 31st of the current year.
