The attendee will understand the role of an AT in a physician practice setting, and the various responsibilities this could entail, including:
- Ordering images/labs
- Performing and initial history and physical exam with presentation to the physician
- Casting
- DME fitting
- Surgery booking/orders
- Imaging interpretations
- Patient calls/triage
- Patient care coordination (rehab providers/PCP/specialists)
- Home exercise teaching
- Assist in administrative responsibilities (disability paperwork, appointment scheduling, documentation/image collection, referral management)
- Administering concussion assessment tools (i.e. ImPACT)
- The attendee will be able to discuss the additional credentials needed for surgical assist, and pathway to obtaining these.
