Laura Decoster and 2017 Most Distinguished AT Amy Hollingworth

The New Hampshire Athletic Trainers’ Association is happy to announce that Amy Hollingworth, ATC, N.H.LAT.  is the 2017 NHATA Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer award recipient.  Amy was presented the Award during the NHATA business meeting during the 2017 NNEATC held at the Falls Event Center in Manchester NH.  Amy serves as the Director of the Safe Sports Network, an entity that coordinates athletic training coverage for high schools in the greater Manchester NH area.

Below is an excerpts from Amy’s nominators.

Amy has worked tirelessly for the betterment of young athletes and for the profession of athletic training in New Hampshire during her nearly 20-year athletic training career.  Under her direction, all eight Safe Sports high schools achieved NATA Safe Sports School designation in the first year of that program.  Amy has committed herself to the emergency preparedness of our schools and youth programs. This commitment has included hands-only CPR/AED training for more than 1000 high school students per year, CPR/First Aid certification for several hundred coaches, Athletes Saving Athletes™ education for 300 student athletes, the creation and maintenance of over 100 venue-specific emergency action plans and the administration and oversight of more than 100 “drop-the-dummy” drills (including the creation and practice of response teams comprised of athletes and coaches).

 

Criteria for the New Hampshire Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer award, are:

  • BOC certified and NH licensed in good standing
  • Demonstrated a commitment to the athletic training profession within our state
  • Citizenship: Candidates should display qualities that exemplify the highest standards in the profession of Athletic Training
